The Rain Enthusiast

Well here in Utah it is a little colder then most areas. So you know the phrase April Showers bring May flowers... Here its more like If you can make it though April's snow then, May Showers bring, and June flowers....

But I do Love the rain. Growing up in midwest we would get the most glorious rain thunder and lightning Storms. I will give utah credit for having some pretty good thunder storms.... SOME... But not nearly as often as i would like. I guess i'm unlike a lot of people because I LOVE the rain! Not just a little sprinkling here or there, i'm talking about full out POURING RAIN. There is something very Beautiful about it. Especially when the rain stops and the clouds part and there is this brand new smell to the earth around you. How can something as old as the earth smell brand new? Well Rain is just amazing like that! Plus I don't know why but I always sleep so well when it is raining out. A natural Sleep aide.... Who knew? So as these dark clouds roll in today over Logan, Utah you can bet that I am praying to the Heavens and crossing my fingers saying "GIVE US ALL YOU GOT!"

Today I want to talk to you all about something very important.

The PHILLY CHEESE STEAK.

If you know me you will quickly realize that I am a food lover.

For the last few days I have been trying to subdue this growing urge to eat a philly cheese steak. Obviously it is not working because If it were I probably would be talking to you about grasshoppers or chocolate covered strawberries or something else random. Instead of waking up first thing this morning thinking I need a hunk of beef for breakfast. So my quest today is to try and make an awesome philly cheese steak sandwich.

So here is the recipe I am going to try. I promise to report the outcome!

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

Recipe courtesy Emeril Lagasse, 2002

Prep Time:: 10 min
Inactive Prep Time:: hr min
Cook Time:: 10 min

Level:: Easy

Serves:: 2 sandwiches

Ingredients

2 fresh Italian sandwich rolls or Kaiser buns, split in half crosswise 1 white onion, thinly sliced 1/2 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 pound rib-eye steak, very very thinly shaved or sliced 1/3 pound thinly sliced white American cheese, or Provolone cheese OR 4 ounces melted cheese whiz Ketchup, optional topping Italian pickled peppers, accompaniment

Directions

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. When hot add the oil, onions and bell peppers, and

cook, stirring, until caramelized, about 6 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Push off to 1 side of the griddle. Add the meat to the hot pan and cook, stirring and breaking up with the back of 2 metal spatulas, until almost no longer pink, about 2 minutes. Mix in the Sauteed vegetables. Top with cheese slices and melt. Spoon the cheesy meat mixture into the warm buns and serve immediately with condiments of choice or Put the meat in the bun and dip the spatula in the cheese whiz and then wipe the spatula down the inside of the bread.

Oh Babies!

I went to the baby shower of a friend of mine today. We will have been friends for 10 years this summer. It was such a good experience. It really made me excited for when I get pregnant with my next. There is nothing more beautiful then a big round pregnant belly! Don't you agree? And she let me feel the baby move so that was pretty awesome to! Love it! BOW BOARDS!

So at my craft fair I met a lot of people who like my products but have babies who just don't leave headbands in. They also commented that they needed a place to put bows. Thus my Bow Boards were born! Best Of all it only costs $20 for Custom made Board! (15 x 20 like pictured). If you see a style on my Etsy that you like and then you see one on my blog that is a different fabric in that style that says it is still for sell, then i can switch them out for you. I have already done this for two of my customers. This is for items that are the same style only.

My Craft first craft fair

It was a nice experience to do this craft fair it really gave me a better appreciation for the way these thing are run. It was also very helpful in showing me what NOT to do next time. I enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. I also met some really great people who i'm sure will be great friends and resources in the future. Getting ready

Now if you are wondering why my etsy is looking kinda bare as of late it is because i have be focusing all my time and energy into this craft fair. (I mean all my time and energy you should see my house... its like a bomb went off) With only Seven days left before the craft fair time is getting short. I have been so busy and I am getting a lot done, but I still have so much to do. Now I will not be having large amounts of everything I make. Mostly I will be focusing on the headband holders with a few other things here and there. This will be the largest selection of headband holders you have ever seen! Making some changes

Hey everyone! If you haven't already noticed I am making a few changes to my blog. Mostly because i'm figuring out how to use it a little better! You can now find all my products under their own tabs located at the top of the page just under the logo. Here you can also find a tab to look at my fabric options. I think this makes my blog much more user friendly since you will now longer have to scroll through the entire posting list to see products and fabrics. Now i will be using this page for what it was intended for blog posts. I will up date you with new items here and you will be able to locate them under their tab at the top! So there have been request to see what fabrics I have avalible. While I am just starting out I do not have a large amount of fabrics in inventory. I like to make these items custom, and that generally means not making the item until someone has told me what they are looking for. However I realize that can makes the process a little more difficult. First I will list Cotton Jersey knits followed by General fabrics and Novelty Prints.

The following are fabrics Cotton jersey knits. The main use of these fabrics are the Luvbug Nest Wraps. Although you can have some other products made from these fabrics the main use is for wraps. There are also BLACK, BROWN, and WHITE not shown (the photos were hard to distinguish the color so I decided not to post them).
